Introduction:

We, the undersigned Turo hosts, respectfully call on Turo to implement improved protections, clearer policies, and greater support for the hardworking individuals who power its platform. As hosts, we are the backbone of Turo’s success, providing our vehicles, time, and effort to deliver exceptional experiences to guests. However, the current policies often leave us vulnerable, unprotected, and undervalued.

 

What We Are Asking For:

 1. Fair Damage Policies

 • Clearer processes for claims and timely resolutions.

 • Improved accountability for guest-related damages.

 • No unfair burdens placed on hosts during disputes.

 2. Transparent Communication

 • Access to reliable, responsive support when issues arise.

 • Greater transparency in how decisions impacting hosts are made.

 3. Improved Review Processes

 • Fair and balanced systems to handle guest reviews, including the ability for hosts to dispute false or misleading reviews.

 • Stronger protections against retaliatory or malicious reviews that damage a host’s reputation.

 • Greater accountability for guests who repeatedly violate platform guidelines.

 • Policies that prioritize host property and ensure accountability for misuse.

.  Conducting thorough vetting of potential guests, including reviewing their background and verifying their license, as well as providing hosts access to this information in an emergency.

 5. A Balanced Fee Structure

 • Reasonable fee arrangements that reflect the value hosts bring to the platform.

 6. Recognition of Host Contributions

 • Turo should involve hosts in discussions on major policy changes to ensure fair representation.

 

Why This Matters:

Turo hosts are entrepreneurs, small business owners, and dedicated providers who make peer-to-peer car sharing possible. Without hosts, there is no platform. By addressing these key areas, Turo can foster a fairer, more sustainable environment where hosts feel valued, protected, and empowered to continue their work.
