Hi. My name is Elise Horton, and I have recently been rear ended while stopped on US-70 (going northeast), trying to turn onto Broadway Road. I was at a complete stop, with my blinker on, and was rear-ended by someone going 40–55 mph, which totaled my vehicle. I am blessed that it wasn’t any worse than it was. I had to go to the ER, and they determined that I had sprained my lumbar and cervical spine, as well as suffering a concussion and interphalangeal joint dislocation. Before this event had occurred, I have come very close to getting into an accident in the same location. First responders at the scene also informed me that this location in Bartlett has a history of frequent accidents, primarily due to the absence of a designated turning lane.
