Florence Skatepark is one of the best skateparks in greater Cincinnati, with a strong community at the heart of it. It is one of the most used parks in Florence if not all of Boone County. Often used for jams, giveaways, and events put on by the locals and us. One of the major complaints is that the lights don't turn on and haven't in a while, keeping the park from reaching its full potential.

For the last 8 months or so, we've been trying to change that. Talking to government workers, city councimembers, and department directors trying to get information. Recently, we've been told that the city will create a new Parks Master Plan, revising all the city's parks and allocating funds to each. Turning on the lights would benefit not only the locals who frequent the park but also Florence businesses and residents, driving more traffic to the park and nearby businesses and attractions. Other parks like Lawrenceburg have put up lights and seen fewer kids out at night and more at the park skating.
