With the support of all of you, we have achieved the first goal of the campaign!

Turkiye has signed the UN treaty aimed at protecting the biodiversity of the high seas!

The next goal is for Turkey to ratify the agreement in the Parliament. So far, 104 countries have signed the agreement, and 13 of them have ratified it in their parliaments and become parties. For the agreement to come into effect, 60 countries need to become parties by 2025.

Your continued support for the campaign is crucial at this stage! Together, we can ensure that Turkey becomes a party to the agreement it has signed, and we can set an example for other countries as well.

With the implementation of the agreement: 
🐚 Marine protected areas will be established in the high seas, 
🐟 Overfishing activities in international waters will be monitored, 
🚢 Sea mines, maritime traffic routes, and exploration activities can be regulated, 
🐋 Endangered species and habitats can be comprehensively protected.
