Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for signing our petition to ask that Dr. Jill Stein, who is currently raising the requisite funds for mounting recount challenges in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, also add North Carolina, Arizona, and Florida to her efforts. The internet response to Dr. Stein's announcement yesterday has been swift and awe-inspiring. In less than 12 hours, Hillary Clinton supporters allied with Green Party supporters, liberals, activists, Democrats, and everyday American citizens concerned about our free and fair elections, to raise $2.5 million just before midnight on Wednesday November 23, which will cover the filing costs for all three recounts. Dr. Stein moved her $2.5 million goal up to $4.5 million in order to cover the additional legal fees and expenses associated with the position (she will be seeking a total of $6 - $7 million total). As of 6:30 p.m. PST on Thursday November 24, 2016, she had raised well above $4.4 million and is expected to fulfill her goal by the end of the night. Here is the candid truth: My organization, Bros4Hillary (www.bros4hillary.com) and I have been at the forefront of a massive grassroots effort to challenge the outcome of this election. Not out of bias for our candidate (well--maybe a little). But really, because democracy and free and fair elections demand it. Secretary Clinton leads in the popular vote by more than 2 million votes. She has earned more votes than any other presidential nominee in history, second only to Barack Obama. She will CERTAINLY exceed President Obama's 2012 numbers. More importantly, there has been demonstrated evidence of interventionism in this election: whether it is reports of Russian hacking, Wikileaks being used by a foreign bad actor to meddle with the election, voter suppression in multiple states. We must do everything we can to make sure that this election is certified with results we can sleep with at night. There has been some skepticism lobbed at Dr. Stein and her intentions. What I want our members, Democrats, and Clinton supporters to understand is that Jill Stein is providing us our only real chance to get a recount. As a candidate, she is in the rare and unique position of being able to request a recount in some states even when the states own election laws do not automatically trigger a recount. The President has made it clear he does not wish to intervene for a multitude of very valid reasons. Moreover, neither the Democratic Party nor Mrs. Clinton can challenge the outcomes and pull it off without an impression of severe conflict of interest and of course, if the recount were to produce a favorable result, Clinton would be accused of corruption and interventionism for the rest of her life. Therefore, Stein is able to give voice to an entire faction of people who until two days ago had been rendered helpless. This is our only real shot. A lot of us are angry with this election. A lot of us are angry at Stein. But whether people want to see it or not, Stein is a bit of a hero in all of this. She has proven herself to be a lot of things while in the public eye. A flat out liar or an opportunist does not seem to be one of them. We are going to raise the funds and we are going to get a recount of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania folks. That is not where your skepticism should lie. Instead I would be skeptical that those recounts well actually render any results that we can find useful. So let's not leave any rock unturned. Let's not stop at WI, PA, and MI. Let's ask Dr. Stein continue on after these states and seek recounts in NC, AZ, and FL (we realize a candidate cannot seek a recount in Florida, but we are calling on Stein to use her platform to call on the Republican Secretary of State in Florida to initiate this process.)
