Creating a safer space for minorities at Trinity College by holding racists accountable!
The issue
In lieu of recent events including the lynching of a black baby doll and Trinity College's denial of racism, this petition has been made to express to the school board that Trinity is not a safe space for their minorities, especially if they do not hold themselves accountable. The school is not new to racial incidents; majority of the incidents are swept under the rug and the feelings of the victims are repeatedly disregarded. Trinity has once again failed their minority groups. This petition will be presented to the school board to showcase your support and to demonstrate that this is indeed 'a racial incident.'
What happens after the petition?
The school will be contacted and the following solutions will be presented:
- Have Trinity instil actual punishments for racism instead of excusing it as a learning curve.
- Encourage Trinity teachers and students alike, to undergo year-long trainings on cultural sensitivity.
