As family and friends of Desmond Herrera we would like to have the right to petition the decision of the judge who gave the murderer of Desmond Herrera a lesser bond and we would also like to request a change of the judge who gave the bond. 

We feel as if the judgement to give him such a low bond was unfair and as if the judge was saying that Desmond’s life was only worth $7,500 dollars. We feel that it is unfair and unsafe to have a murderer walking the same streets as us, being able to go any and everywhere that he pleases especially due to the fact that we all reside in South/South East Austin. We want to feel safe as the community and not have to walk the same streets as a murderer just because he can come up with $7,500 dollars. Desmond’s life was worth way more than $7,500 dollars. Desmond was very involved and loved in the South/South East Austin community and we do not feel that its right that he gets to walk the same streets as us. 

We demand to have a voice and to be heard on the way we feel as a family and a community.
