Response from Ray Williams MP for Castle Hill
Posting below the response I received from Ray Williams MP for Castle Hill. His view is that Transport NSW is simply removing a duplicate service and we are just upset at losing our 'favourite bus service'. For me this shows he has either completely missed everyones point of view about the new service. It takes longer and is a lot less convenient than the 607x. For me I will actually be better off using my car to get to the city each day which I am dead against but I won't be switching to the metro in its current form (i.e. car parks full by 7.30am and not being direct to the city).
Dear Peter,
Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding changes to the bus routes which are scheduled to come into effect on 28 July 2019. I apologise for the delay.
With the commencement of the Metro Northwest Rail, there have already been over 1800 additional bus services provided to help connect residents from our suburbs to rail stations.
There will also be changes to some existing bus services to improve access to rail stations but at the same time eliminate duplication of bus and rail services operating similar routes.
No one likes to lose a favourite bus service and we apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause.
However, on your behalf, I have forwarded your concerns to the Minister for Transport and Roads for consideration.
Regards,
Office of The Hon Ray Williams
