Kingston council are planning to install a modal filter on King Charles road, between Beaconsfield road and Hollyfield road on 14th September. The council plan to implement this change without any prior consultation.

This will close essential access into Berrylands and make force traffic down other residential roads including Browns road, Hollyfield road & Beaconsfield road.

Other areas that have had modal filters installed have struggled with reduced access for emergency services, increased traffic and increased pollution.

Similar plans in Chessington and throughout London have been abandoned.
