Hello

Just to let you know that the Move For Jack campaign begins tomorrow. I went for a run early this morning as part of my final preparations, and my trainer was impressed with the time I put in (Yes, I AM over-stating this).

I was delighted to see on my way back that the floral memorial to Jack on the bridge has been re-freshed to mark what would have been his 30th birthday. All the old flowers have been replaced by fresh bouquets. Jack's closest mates have also left a touching poem and two brand new Aston Villa scarves have been tied to the lamppost. I sincerely hope that these are not stolen like the last ones. Grrrr.

I noticed this week that TFL had a tech team at the junction checking on the underground services (electrics/water). This accounts for all the multi-coloured markings on the pavements. Things are clearly also moving at pace with the crossing.

If you'd like to take part in the Move For Jack event, all the information is on the Virgin Giving donation page. The idea is basically to get out and do some exercise in Jack's memory.

The event is raising money for the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Aston Villa Foundation. The fund has so far exceeded £15,000. This is an impressive total - but hardly surprising when you consider that some elite financial brains from PwC are involved!

If you do manage to take part and post on social media, please use the hashtag #MoveForJack.
