A quick up-date...

Talks between officers and traffic/road designers at TFL and RBKC have continued this week in an effort to solve the Battersea Bridge situation.

Progress was going well, but the knock-on effect of the proposed plans as regards other 'arms' of the crossroads on Cheyne Walk have got in the way and caused an obstacle. One of the key problems is how to improve the crossing on Beaufort Street to everyone's satisfaction. This has led to what some have called an "impasse"... although I prefer to think of it as just "creative tension"! 

I am delighted to say that Commissioner Andy Byford has been in touch with everyone involved to say that he is on hand to settle the differences and find a way to make it all work. He has said to me that he is "absolutely determined" to get the crossings done and "within the shortest possible timeframe". 

I don't think anyone can ask for a greater degree of commitment from The Commissioner than this. I remain positive that all will be well, even if it may take an extra bit of time. I hope not to be proved wrong! (RM/17/2/20)
