I have today been forwarded an email from Robert Faux of Transport for London. It states that the lifts will be replaced one at a time and the station will remain open throughout: "Following further assessments by our engineers and safety experts, we have concluded that it will be possible to keep Caledonian Road station open whilst refurbishing our lifts one at a time, over an approximately 18 month period." This petition - and firm action from Islington Council have done the trick. Thank you everyone. The petition will now close.
