The Issue

All victims’ families of child sexual abuse must know that detectives and the Child Protection Departments lie and hide the truth in the child forensic interviews. Notably, getting this interview video costs a fortune, in addition to hiring lawyers and the Guardian Ad Litem. Unfortunately, most people cannot access the video, rendering it inaccessible for many, and therefore have no idea what the child said or did not say during the interview. This is unfair and cruel to the affected party that is already suffering with the matter and trying to protect the child from being abused again. I am a witness, and after 11 months of believing in those lies from the BSO detective and DCF, and after finally having access to the video, I watched my daughter’s interview, where I discovered she disclosed the abuse. I have no words to describe how terrified and shocked I felt and still am. My case is still ongoing in Civil court, and I am fighting for justice, after being called for a meeting with the BSO Office Department, and 7 people; between sergeants, detectives and Assistant State Attorney, where they attacked me with lies and tried to intimidate me, after I discovered the crime, they committed against my daughter. Just an innocent little girl who had the courage to disclose the abuse, and the law tried to turn her down, which could leave her in danger of being abused again, without any remorse. The forensic interview needs to be transparent to the responsible party that is trying to protect the abused minor. It doesn’t mean that they can’t evaluate what the child is saying and how she is saying it, to determine if it is true or not. However, transparency is essential for legitimate cases that require investigation. I am asking for those millions of families that have endured those sad matters, breaking the hearts and souls of the affected. I am asking for the families who will sadly be where we are now, having yet to undergo this emotionally tolling process. We need to reform this broken criminal system and help protect our young children. Also, this transparency will make it more difficult for the abusers to avoid getting caught. So, the hope is to decrease the number of abused children and increase the control in those cases. The system gives a green light to the abusers and, on top of that, protects them, while leaving the child who was abused dismissed and without any protection and, even less, without any justice. Whoever has endured or is currently enduring these miserable moments, with all the suffering, can understand how deep and cruel the trauma is that these kids fall victim to. I am broken. My heart and my soul will never be the same after my daughter was sexually abused by her own father. A man whom she loved and trusted, as she had obedience due to her age. A pretty, silly, and innocent girl, without any understanding of sexuality or anything sexual, was tricked with lies and false information. Believing in what he said and asked her to do, saying that was what all girls do with their fathers. The damage is brutal for our innocent kids, and we cannot accept being denied the protection and justice they deserve, which is, by law, our right to have. If you are a parent who loves your child, relates to this situation, or feels empathy and demands to see a change, please help us with this petition. We, the people, are the ones who can help to improve this system in this area and be the ones who can help the next victims. Every 20 minutes, one child is abused. This can happen with anyone, in any family. 80% of the children who are sexually abused are abused by those closest to them. These statistics include parents, grandparents, and close family members. The most charismatic and trustworthy ones are the abusers. It’s hard to believe and even harder to see who they are. They know how to hide it very well. They act very cowardly, targeting little kids, threatening and frightening them, making it difficult for our children to have the courage and ability to speak the truth. They struggle to disclose the abusers and abuse. I am embracing this cause and making every effort to help make a better future for our lovely children. That’s why, once more, I am counting on every single person who has empathy and wishes for a better future for our kids to sign this petition. Please, I am counting on you. They are counting on you.
