The Issue:
NYC public school facilities are funded by taxpayers, yet access is often denied when schools are NOT in SESSION. These underutilized public resources should be made available to nonprofits that have been fingerprinted, background-checked, fully vetted and fully insured. Taxpayer-funded spaces when school is NOT in SESSION should be opened to the public and support the community.

What We’re Asking For:

Doing so will increase transparency and clarity to ensure fairness, and freedom from discrimination, racism, bias and elitism. Spaces opened to the public will only encourage parents and civic engagement, protect children with disabilities, support and empower the community. It will also benefit the voiceless and marginalized families to have safe, affordable and enriching programs. We are in this together.

Why This Matters:
 To support NYS Governor Kathy Hochul and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani in advancing quality and affordable child care for all.
