Have Fun, Get Home Safe: Later TransLink Hours!
The Issue
In Vancouver, the shortage of late-night transit has long been a problem for commuters. In particular, Friday and Saturday nights often see Vancouver residents struggling to find safe and affordable modes of transportation. We propose a solution to this issue: extended TransLink Skytrain and Canada Line hours. As most clubs and venues close late, TransLink hours should be extended until 3:00AM on Fridays, Saturdays and commercialized holidays, as opposed to the typical last trains at 1:15AM. This would accommodate a wide demographic of TransLink users and provide residents with increased transportation options, as cabs and ride-shares are often in low supply later at night.
