Translate Sefer Hamamorim 5666 (Samach Vov)
The Issue
Many of the core principles of Chassidus Chabad, such as to create a Dirah Bitachtonim by connecting to Hashem through Torah and Mitzvos, the purpose of creation, are encapsulated in the teachings of the Rebbe Rashab and most famously in Hemshech Samach Vov.
These teachings provide the bedrock for a large portion of Chabad Chassiduss. Despite its significance, this work remains largely inaccessible to those who are not fluent in Loshon Hakodesh and not well-versed in the myriad of chassidic principles brought down in the Hemshech.
Which is why an English translation is vital.
An English translation of Samach Vov would bridge the gap for a global audience, both within the Chabad community as well as the English-speaking community worldwide, where many are not proficient in Loshon Hakodesh nor have a vast knowledge of Chassidus.
Given Chabad’s wide reach across the world, this translation would allow English-speaking Jews to access and engage with these fundamental teachings of the Rebbe Rashab, benefiting everyone from Bochrim and Balei Batim, to Shluchim and their communities, enabling them to incorporate these teachings into personal study as well as the spreading of these teachings.
The Hemshech contains a vast range of in-depth concepts that will expand one's general knowledge of Chasidus, enhancing personal Avodah, and providing much-needed clarity and perspective in today’s complex world.
Making these teachings available in English would not just be a matter of convenience, but a necessary step to expand the reach of Chassidus Chabad. It would allow these teachings to inspire and uplift people across the globe, bringing us closer to the coming of Moshiach.
If 1,500 signatures are reached, we encourage Mosdos such as Sichos in English (SIE), Chayenu, and Kehot to spearhead this tremendous initiative and undertake this project, to enable the wisdom of the Rebbe Rashab’s Chassidus to achieve greater accessibility, thereby impacting a wider audience.
