Transform EPCOT concept into a family resort
The Issue
Walt Disney's vision for EPCOT is a testament to his boundless imagination and ambition. Before his untimely death, Disney dreamed of creating a utopian city that embraced innovation and community living, which he famously termed the "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" (EPCOT). Sadly, that vision was never fully realized, leaving behind an unfinished dream.
Today, we have a chance to honor Walt's legacy by transforming the EPCOT concept into Epcot’s family-friendly, budget-conscious resort next to Disney's Epcot park's World Discovery. This endeavor not only revives Disney's final project but also offers a unique and affordable vacation experience for families.
In this vision, the dormant Wonders of Life Pavilion that was originally gonna be the now shelved Play Pavillion would serve as a nostalgic yet functional PeopleMover station and play area with a questionnaire station featuring “Welcome to Your Future” from Spaceship Earth to hang around while waiting for loved ones, connecting families from a central hotel to resort villas themed as Monsanto House of the Future. Imagine guests seamlessly journeying via an innovative PeopleMover train both above and suspended below the tracks with stations at both the main hotels and villa areas, directly linking them to the heart of World Discovery, offering an immersive linkage to EPCOT's spirit of exploration and adventure.
A transformation of this nature promises not only to enhance the EPCOT experience but also to uphold Disney's dedication to creativity, sustainability, and community. By creating a budget-friendly option, we ensure that families from all walks of life can partake in the magic of Disney in a way that honors the park's innovative origins and Walt's pioneering spirit.
It's time to breathe life into Walt's unfinished dream. Let us push for a development that not only respects Disney's legacy but also offers new possibilities for everyone who visits.
Sign this petition to show your support for converting the Progress City EPCOT into a vibrant, accessible family resort, true to Walt Disney's original vision for a harmonious, forward-thinking community.
