Petition for Traffic Safety Improvements at the Norwood Drive and Wallace Run Road Intersection
​To Whom It May Concern:

​We, the undersigned residents and concerned citizens, are writing to urgently request a traffic safety improvement at the intersection of Norwood Drive and Wallace Run Road in Big Beaver Boro. This intersection, particularly where Norwood Drive exits onto Wallace Run Road at the overpass, poses a significant and immediate danger to drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.

​The current design of the overpass exit creates a critical visibility issue. Drivers exiting Norwood Drive have an obstructed view of oncoming traffic from the tunnel, making it impossible to see vehicles approaching from that direction. A small mirror is currently in place, but it is inadequate. Its size is too small to be effective, and it becomes completely useless during fog, rain, or other inclement weather.

​This lack of visibility has created an extremely hazardous situation with a high potential for a serious accident. We are concerned that it may take a fatality for this issue to be addressed, and we implore you to take action before such a tragedy occurs. Every life is precious, and we believe it is the responsibility of our community leaders to proactively prevent harm rather than react to it.

​Therefore, we petition for the installation of a speed bump on Wallace Run Road after the end of the tunnel. This simple measure would force vehicles to slow down, giving drivers a chance to safely navigate the blind exit and significantly reducing the risk of a collision.

​We urge you to fix this dangerous situation now, before someone is killed.
