Traders and Wholesalers inclusion in MSME

The Issue

Why are Traders and Wholesalers not included in MSME? Why are they discriminated from manufacturing and service providers? Is it that they don't generate employment? Is it that they don't contribute to the GDP? Is it that they don't support manufacturing units?

Traders and Wholesalers were removed from MSME Act 2006 in 2015 after they raised issue of employment generation and investment. Udhyog aadhar registration was removed for traders and only Manufacturers and Service providers were given the right to generate UAM.

But the big question arises why are they not included in MSME and not given the benefits that are given to MSME units. To give you an idea, traders are the one who provide daily and timely service to the Manufacturers and Service providers in all the way, Be it providing raw material to spares etc. all of them. They work on the model of providing good service with some credit period also so that manufacturers can get the time to repay for the material purchased.  On the other hand traders also generate employment. From loading unloading to providing factory delivery of material every way possible. They form an essential part of the supply chain. Also they are the one who are helping the manufacturers in selling their products.

It is the traders and Wholesalers who help them in running their business smoothly without any hindrances taking all the burden of keeping stock, providing credit terms, to delivery of required materials on timely basis etc. So if you sum up, trading is the backbone for manufacturers and cycle does not get competed without traders and Wholesalers.
Inclusion in MSME UAM will not only help us in delayed payment MSME Samaadhan but also 2% interest deduction on loans facilitated by the banks. It will also help many small traders with other schemes under MSME.

I request you'll to sign this petition so that we can tell the Trader Association to fight for us to be a part of MSME and get all the benefits provided to them. Also we would like to request the MSME department of India to help us in getting a place in MSME Udhyog aadhar.
