What an incredible community we have!
Wow! What a great showing of support and community spirit!
We have worked together to collect signatures representing nearly 20% of our Statistics Canada reported population! Great work!
While we have made a splash, and started an important discussion full of thoughtful comments, we want to make sure that council cannot brush our request aside.
So, how do we make sure our voices are heard? We need to continue to spread our message, encourage our friends and family within the community to voice their support by signing this petition, and continue the thoughtful discussion while we work together to drive meaningful change!
Together we can be heard, and together, we can collaborate with council to ensure that this bylaw is implemented rapidly, in collaboration with residents, and with a focus on safety within our community!
As of this evening, Mayor Rompf and Council have been added as key decision makers, this is an important step as we we want to be sure this is a collaborative, and open request. We sincerely thank each of our key decision makers for making their contact information available, and for engaging in this discussion with us.
So, what is next!?
We need to drive on, if we can gather 582 signatures, we can confidently submit our formal request to town council knowing that we have support equal to 51% of our reported population! But I know we can do better, we all have a voice, permanent and seasonal residents alike, make sure yours is heard! Let’s aim together for 600 signatures, or more!
We will leave this petition open until Monday, at which time it will be submitted to the town for consideration and we will request a statement be made on the matter before the week’s end. Our season is short, and we need action.
Thank you all for taking the time to add your name, share, and support this cause, we will be sure to keep you updated throughout this journey!
