A sincere thank-you to all who have signed. Terry Fox has approximately 470 students, and I was able to reach only a fraction of the parents to inform them of the petition. The Town claims they are NOT taking this petition seriously as some signatures have come from outside the Terry Fox community. They will only consider emails and phone calls to their offices. The Town has taken some action by viewing the area again, and have vowed that they are taking our safety concerns seriously. That being said, there have still been NO changes take place. They have made some less than desirable decisions (to keep our crossing guard where she's currently located), in other words they feel there's no need to move her - even though she has cars whizzing through her crosswalk!

If you feel strongly about seeing changes like flashing lights at our 4-way stop signs, and our crossing guard moved we cannot do this alone. Please take 5 minutes to contact our Town today.

On a side note, we look forward to seeing new safety cones going up at the school, and in upcoming months have the CAA safety patrol program put on with help from our very own students! Don't forget to give the kids a kind shout-out when you see them!
