Allow a tattoo studio in Highland, IN.

Allow a tattoo studio in Highland, IN.
The Issue
Highland, Indiana, has never had a tattoo/piercing studio in their town and has no interest in allowing my studio (Nephilim Studios) to be there.
To not have a tattoo and piercing studio in Highland is causing clients to go elsewhere in surrounding cities to meet their wants. It would only make sense to open one here to draw in a larger crowd to add revenue. Many tattoo and piercing clients like to explore the town they’re in prior to or after an appointment for food and drinks. My clients would help other local businesses in Highland drive up their sales and profits.
In the midst of a job market crisis due to the pandemic, why would you not want a new business to open to allow more jobs and town revenue? Many businesses had to permanently close in the past year. It makes no sense to not welcome new business in your town.
Furthermore in Highland’s regulation, they’re trying to say “per Indiana’s regulations, you must be in good standing to practice osteopathic medicine with the Indiana Medical Licensing Board” but in Indiana’s ordinances, it’s said that regular tattoo artists do NOT fall under that category. I wholeheartedly believe this was a misunderstanding by whoever wrote this ordinance for Highland.
I’m asking you to help me change Highland’s mind.
Thank you,
Tina Brenda
