Hi everyone, sorry for the delay. Council are moving on to the next step by doing a more in depth study regarding changing the bylaw. It won't be till probably spring till the next meeting regarding this. Some councillors were saying they are getting a lot more people saying they don't want change, we need more people contacting the mayor and council to tell them we want change. The preliminary report seemed pretty positive, hopefully the next one is the same. Dave Neeson seemed pretty interested in moving forward with the report. Fellini was against it and even voted no to moving on. Frank was actually very supportive. Naomi was more against it but voted yes to moving on with the next step. The rest of the councillors, mayor and deputy mayor also voted yes to proceed with the new study. Safety concerns over vehicles parking on the road was a big topic, we need to ensure council that by changing this bylaw we won't be parking on the roads and causing safety hazards. I believe we need to drum up more support come early next year, so the councillors and mayor hear more people want change compared to people that don't want change.
During the meeting they also instructed town staff to do a report on the complaint procedure. Once that report is done it is suppose to be presented to council aswell. This report will more then likely be done well before the next meeting regarding bylaw changes.
Once I find out when the next meetings regarding either subject are I will let everyone know. In the meantime please continue to email and call council to express your desire for the bylaw to change.
Thanks Again
Dave
