Switching to a weighted system would be beneficial to our school in a variety of ways. As it is, students who do well in “Easy A” courses get the equivalent recognition of those who challenge themselves by taking college level classes. Students are losing incentive to take AP courses and AP enrollment is down. With a weighted system, all of this has the potential to change. All we need is support from past, present, and future students as well as parents, teachers, and other members of the community.
