Big thanks to all those who braved the forecast and made it out to the protest yesterday! Just as planned, the rain stopped right at 11:00 AM so we were able to go on with the protest as scheduled. We heard lots of car horns and people shouting from their windows, so your presence was felt!
We know that turkeys are intelligent creatures and they did not deserve to be killed by the City of Wauwatosa. We will continue to advocate for them until City of Wauwatosa transparently establishes an OFFICIAL policy for urban turkey management that includes community input.
In the meantime, take a minute to read about the unique rehabilitation journey of a turkey named Tori. The co-founder of the Raptor Education Group, Inc. met with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel earlier this winter to tell her story.
"I never expected this, I never thought this was possible ...Tori changed our lives and she taught us so much..."
