Contrary to what was told to local news outlets, the remains of the killed turkeys were not actually donated to a "local food pantry."

I repeat: The City of Wauwatosa told multiple news outlets, in no uncertain terms, that the turkey remains were already processed and donated to a local food pantry. This did not happen.

It wasn't until AFTER the City of Wauwatosa began receiving inquiries about the turkey remains that they actually appeared to enact a plan.

In response to an inquiry THIS MORNING, the City of Wauwatosa said that the turkey remains will be donated to the Tosa Cares Food Pantry "likely this week or next week?".

The turkeys were killed nearly a month ago.

The City of Wauwatosa's handling of this entire ordeal has been preposterous. We must maintain that GOVERNMENT CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO SAY ONE THING AND THEN DO ANOTHER!

The City of Wauwatosa must transparently establish an OFFICIAL policy for urban turkey management that includes input from the community.

THE NEEDLESS KILLING OF WILDLIFE CANNOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
