The City of Wauwatosa contradicted their own publicly posted policy for urban turkey management and made no attempt to involve the public in their decision to kill innocent wild turkeys. Their resolution was lazy, unimaginative and the beloved wild turkeys deserved better.
It is not good enough to just tell the public that "relocating the animals was not feasible".
The public was included, there was a vote, and it was decided that some of the wild peacocks would be humanely transported to an animal sanctuary to live out their days in peace. NO WILD ANIMALS WERE KILLED.
Keep sharing and encourage others to sign this petition until the City of Wauwatosa admits lack of transparency, wrongdoing, and makes an official statement about what steps will be taken to prevent future needless killing of innocent wildlife.
