The Toronto Blue Jays Should Fire Charlie Montoyo

The Toronto Blue Jays Should Fire Charlie Montoyo
The Issue
Charlie Montoyo needs to be stopped for the sake of this team. He has exhibited staggering incompetence in most in-game managerial aspects on a regular basis: poorly constructed lineups, bullpen usage, tactics, and his instincts, i.e. when to pull his starting pitcher and rely on the bullpen, when to challenge a replay, etc., have been proven time and time again to be truly next-level awful.
Charlie is a nice guy and seems likeable on a personal level, but he has consistently demonstrated a firm belief in providing everybody on the roster with fair playing time opportunities, as if he were coaching Little League. Being nice and likeable doesn't win baseball games, unfortunately.
The bullpen is certainly far from a team strength, but it's clear that the decisions Charlie has made are compounding the poor results, and have subsequently resulted in too many losses.
During his three-year tenure with the team, Charlie has not shown much or any improvement in his ability to make smart, winning baseball decisions. The fact that the team is in a playoff race at this time is a credit to the skill and drive the players possess and should in no way be credited to Mr. Montoyo.
Exercising Charlie's team option for 2022 was a poor decision, but it's not too late to rectify this error in judgment by cutting bait now or at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
This team is brimming with talent and has a very bright future ahead of it, so let's not squander this golden opportunity to bring a World Series championship to the city of Toronto and the entire country of Canada, on a manager that, frankly, lacks the ability to put this team into the best positions to win games.
Mark, Ross, get it done, please.
Signed,
Everybody
