Have we all been fooled? It turns out that DHA’s application is still current and is still in front of Council for assessment – all 342 houses worth. Council planning staff have not received any information or instructions stating that the application has been withdrawn.

So what was MP John McVeigh’s front page article all about? Have TRC and McVeigh been trying to get the Save Mt. Lofty campaign off the agenda in the run-up to Council elections? It sure looks like it. Especially when you consider that the Chronicle said that the DHA/Mt. Lofty development was the number one issue in our local government elections.

So there’s only one thing to do, folks. It’s time to contact our Federal member, Dr. John McVeigh MP, on 07 4632 4144 and ask him exactly what he meant when he said that the plan was being withdrawn. Because it’s been several weeks now and we’ve seen absolutely NOTHING of the sort.
