Breaking Barriers’ mission is to promote and instill fair opportunities for health care in order to empower limited English-proficiency (LEP) speakers in California (specifically those in the Koreatown community). We plan to do this by supporting and taking part in efforts to facilitate the communication between LEP speakers and healthcare service providers. Our project will also bring awareness to the struggles experienced by those frequently inconvenienced or disadvantaged by a language barrier. In doing the aforementioned, we hope to foster positive changes for the members of our community.
