March '25 - Tonbridge to Hadlow off Road Path - work commences on Phase 1

Dear A26 Off Road Path/Cyclepath Tonbridge to Hadlow supporters

I am pleased to be able to give you the following update.

Following the large amount of support for this route by local residents, Councillors, Hadlow Parish council and the approval by the Joint Transportation Board work has been progressing on planning the delivery of a potential complete off road walking path to Hadlow it is hoped that this can eventually be upgraded to include a cycle path. 

The proposal is for the route is to be delivered in three phases subject to funding (More details can be seen on the Joint Transportation Board meeting minutes on the Tonbridge & Malling Website). 

Phase 1 which runs from Three Elm Lane to the Haywards Farm shop is currently being delivered in March/April '25. Which is very positive progress. Vegetation Clearance for Phase 1 is currently progressing with the footway construction on schedule for April '25.

Phase 2 which is proposed to run off road from the Haywards farm shop to  the public right of way at Faulkners Oast is currently being put forward for funding allocation. 

Phase 3 is proposed to join up with Blackmans lane for a complete route to Hadlow.  Options for phase 3 are still being assessed due to the route not being given support to run through the Hadlow College field, however other options are being explored. 

This is a very positive start and I hope to be able to update you on phase 2 in the near future.
