Thank you all for your support. With your help and that of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board and Jim Jackson, Aotea Sea Scouts were able to submit our petition to the Government and raise enough funds to gain the service of a professional planner, David Hay from Osbornehay, to aid our case. We also received the help of an RMA lawyer Bal Matheson from Richmond Chambers, who donated his time to us to reach an agreement with the NZTA outside of the EPA process. This agreement secures the future of the Sea Scouts should the NZTA project proceed, and in obtaining this we have been required to withdraw from the EPA hearing process. This is a good result for the group as we could not have afforded to remain in the hearing process due to the costs involved, and now thanks to your help the youth of Onehunga will retain the option of Sea Scouting into the future. Thank you. From the Committee, Leaders, and Families of Aotea Sea Scouts.
