Petition updateStop NZTA destruction of Aotea Sea Scouts and the Onehunga waterfrontOnehunga Foreshore Cleanup a Great Success

Aotea Sea Scouts
Mar 3, 2017
It was great to see the Sea Scouts out helping the community and the Sustainable Coastlines crew in cleaning up the Onehunga Foreshore today. Denise Lee was also there, showing that she does not just talk the talk, but she gets in to the dirty jobs as well and is here for our community. Several of the scouts went the extra mile in the dirty stakes and waded out in the mud to get tires and traffic cones that had been thrown into the harbour (who does this!), so a hose down was required. One of the great things about the reclamation proposal is that it will see much mud removed from the harbour and our water quality improved, along with creating new habitats for bird life and for people to enjoy. Submissions are now open for you to comment on the East West Link with the Environmental Protection Authority, and you have until end of day on 23rd March to do so. Please make a submission, this is our communities biggest opportunity to make a difference. Make it count.
