Growing up, Dragon Ball was an integral part of my life. Its storylines, characters, and the sense of adventure it instills, has left an indelible mark on my personality. However, I, like many other fans, have noticed that the anime adaptation didn't exactly follow the original manga. 

The original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z anime series produced by Toei Animation took artistic liberties which resulted in deviations from Akira Toriyama’s manga (The Japan Times, 2015). Some of these changes, though done for stylistic or pacing reasons, diluted significant elements in the plot and affected the character development.

Many fans have expressed discontent with the adaptation, wishing for a version that is more faithful to the manga. The success of Hunter x Hunter’s 2011 adaptation by Madhouse, which more evenly followed Yoshihiro Togashi's manga, proved that a faithful adaptation can create both critical and commercial success (TV Tokyo, 2014).

Therefore, we call on Toei Animation and Crunchyroll to come together and remake Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z to be more true to the original manga. Let’s bring the essence of the manga we grew up loving to the animated screen. Please sign this petition if you support a more faithful adaptation of Dragon Ball.
