Louisiana becomes the first state to pass a law that prohibits abortion once the heartbeat of the baby is detected, which is in about six weeks. The Louisiana case is also significant says Valery Hudges of Louisiana House of Representatives because, one Democrat in that state Senate who is Pro-Life has backed the governor in passing the heartbeat law. It was also reported that Karen Carter, Chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party expressed her disappointment in the governor for passing this anti abortion law. The broader strategy though for anti-abortion states is to be on the Court, on the path to challenging Roe v. Wade. Louisiana governor said that "unless the 5th Circuit Court upholds the Mississippi law, Louisiana won't implement its yet."
There was also a victory in Saint Louis Missouri this week, when that state stopped Planned Parenthood Clinic from performing abortion, effective Friday May 31, 2019, thus making Missouri the first and only state to do so, so far.
