BULL RIDING IS CRUELTY AND CRUELTY IS NOT A SPORT

PBR (Professional Bull Riders) is scheduled to come to Moncton on May 30th at the Avenir Center.

Bull riding events are totally outdated! They are both cruel and barbaric and in EVERY bull riding event, the bulls get hurt. There are no ands, ifs, or buts about this. This is fact.

Now, everyone would agree that entertainment should never involve cruelty and though no one would get any joy out of watching an animal being tortured, it is easy to get caught up in the excitement, to see the entertainment and to completely forget about the animal.

Most people just don’t know or don’t realize the cruelty involved in such a show. The injuries and deaths sustained by rodeo animals make it obvious they are subject to violence, which causes pain, fear and anxiety. Some argue that bulls are just like athletes in other rough sports but unlike human athletes, bulls have no choice in the matter. Would a bull choose to be goaded into an arena filled with thousands of screaming people with someone on his back and a belt tied around his groin? I think we all know the answer to that question. Even without physical harm, the noise, alien surroundings and being forced to do something completely unnatural causes extreme fear and anxiety for the bulls.

There are so many options of entertainment and shows that Moncton and the Avenir Center can host; cruelty should not be an option.

Please voice your concerns to our Mayor and City Council and to the Avenir Center.

Because BULL RIDING is legal, the only way to end this is to call for a ban on BULL RIDING here in Moncton. Other cities have done it and every year, more cities follow.

Moncton is famous for its kind people. It is seen as a friendly and honest city, is the hub of the Maritimes and it has a reputation to protect.

Animal rights is the biggest and fasted growing social change movement of our time. We have a chance to change history and help animal exploitation as a form of entertainment come to an end!

Moncton and the Avenir Center can use their power to help end animal cruelty.

Imagine a headline saying: Moncton and the Avenir Center choose to cancel the upcoming bull riding event as it is not aligned with their values and  say no to profiting of off exploitation.

Together we can bring this to an end! Let’s be a voice for those who need it.
