Neil was a friend of mine and the Bernie Banton Foundation, but more importantly, he was a loving husband to Leanne and one crash hot father to three sons. He was also a mechanic and revered member of the Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia community. Neil died on April the 13th 2015, just shy of 4 years after being diagnosed with mesothelioma - he was only 53 years of age! Over the period of his illness Neil tried all known forms of accepted treatments, but one by one they failed to make a difference - which is not surprising, there is a reason why mesothelioma is classed as terminal or incurable. I remember the day Leanne and Neil were told there was no more treatment ....... they were given no more HOPE! No access to trials or to drugs, that might offer even a short extension of quality of life, or indeed give HOPE.
