I ask the question, "Would my Julie (in the photo with me, 2 years into our 3 year mesothelioma journey) who died from mesothelioma, still be alive today if more drugs for treating rare diseases were able to be trialled, and it was simpler for drug companies to apply to have these drugs listed on the PBS?" In Julie's case I guess the answer will never be known, but lets persuade the government to fund trialling of drugs with potential, and change the application requirements so innovative drugs are accessible to all - not just those with diseases involving big numbers!
