We are into the last phase of campaigning against the closure of BBC Three on TV. Have you filled in the new survey from the BBC Trust yet? If not I've put together this form which will take you just 30 seconds to complete to send your objection - http://savebbc3.com/response/ Last month the BBC responded to the BBC Trust with a complete disregard to the BBC Three audience and the concerns that have been raised. What they are proposing amount to empty promises. The BBC will not set any quotas for the amount of programming it will show on BBC1 and 2 for the BBC Three audience. While some shows will air appear on these channels on BBC1&2 some time around 10.30pm or 11.30pm there is no guarantee they'll do this long term. Bosses will not explain what it proposes to do with the vacant space which BBC Three, BBC Three HD, and additional space that BBC1+1 would have used. They have dismissed the suggestion viewers should be migrated from television to online over a longer period of time. Instead bosses are expressing wishes to wind down BBC Three in January by airing repeats and promotional videos for the new online BBC Three, and removing it altogether by March 1st. And to make BBC Three a success it will need to double or treble budgets for advertising as well as funding a new online brand - impacting on how much the closure on TV actually saves. All in all their response suggests the amount of new 'long form' programming it will create a week amounts to just 2 hours. Even in the 90s the BBC offered more programming for us in a week than these proposals. Bosses' plans for the BBC three are unravelling and it gives us every reason to put up a fight until September 30 when this consultation closes. I urge you to take 30 seconds to fill in this web page - http://savebbc3.com/response/ Once you've done it retweet this alerting people to this *new* consultation/survey - https://twitter.com/SaveBBCThree/status/631892390689673216. This is something different to what they may have done before to help save the channel. Thanks everyone. Jono Read @savebbcthree / @jonoread jono@savebbc3.com
