Petition updateTo ABC: Air the 'Banned' Black-ish Anthem EpisodeBREAKING: The "Banned" 2017 Black-ish Episode Is Now On HULU

Hey everyone! Remember this petition?

A little more than 2 years ago the team at Black-ish made a "banned" episode called "Please, Baby, Please" that discussed the current state of America at the time. This included the right for athletes to take a knee during the anthem (Colin Kaepernick first took his knee just a year prior), and featured a comment levied at Donald Trump -- which, allegedly -- was the reason why the episode was pulled.

It was also, allegedly, the reason why show creator Kenya Barris left ABC Studios for an overall deal at Netflix.

Well...as of today the episode is available at Hulu. It also appears the current social climate of America (post-George Floyd) was the primary reason the episode made the airwaves.

Black-ish creator Kenya Barris made a statement today, which included:

“Please, Baby, Please” didn’t make it to air that season and, while much has been speculated about its contents, the episode has never been seen publicly… until now. I’m excited to share that “Please, Baby, Please” is now available on Hulu. Following the re-airing of “Juneteenth” and “Hope,” I asked Walt Disney Television to revisit making the episode available. Recognizing the importance of this moment, they listened and agreed."

As a result of this, this petition will be closed. We basically see this as a SUCCESS! The episode is now available -- more than 2 years after the making of this petition.

Thank you for the 17,000+ who signed this petition. Now only if we can get Kaepernick back on the field we'll come back full circle.

Thank you.
