According to Carers Australia (Report: Caring Costs Us: March 2022; p. 15.) 623,742 carers receive Carer Allowance (at just 43 cents an hour, $10.34 a day, $72.40 a week, $144.80 a fortnight, or $3764.80 a year) and 300,121 receive Carer Payment (at $3.05 an hour, $73.32 a day, $513.25 a week, $1026.50 a fortnight, or $26,689 a year) to look after an aged, infirm, disabled, or incapcitated person 24/7, 365 days a year.

And according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census data, in 2021 (based on aggregate state and territory data) there were 2,476,306 carers in Australia.

If the Government financially assists just 300,121 with Carer Payment, and 623,742 - being over twice as many - with the much lesser Carer Allowance, it begs the question, "what assistance do the remaining 1,552,443 (or 62.69%) of carers get?"
