New Zealand Needs Independence from Economic Extortion - Oppose the US Attack on Greenland

We, as citizens of New Zealand, stand against President Donald Trump's proposal to annex Greenland and the imposition of a burdensome 10% tariff on countries that do not align with the United States. This isn’t just a distant diplomatic disagreement—it’s deeply personal to us. It threatens the values we hold dear, the spirit of independence we cherish, and the solidarity with Europe and Greenland that forms the bedrock of our own national identity.

We must resist fascism whenever it seeks to impose itself. The proposed annexation is not merely a political maneuver; it signals a disregard for the sovereignty of nations and a dangerous shift towards authoritarianism that history has shown us must be fought against rigorously and relentlessly. The 10% tariff stands as a coercive penalty against nations, including New Zealand, that choose to stand by their principles rather than submit to external pressures.

New Zealand must take a stand on the global stage as we rally our government and fellow citizens to vehemently oppose these proposals. We urge our leaders to vocally condemn the annexation of Greenland and support efforts to maintain its integrity as a sovereign territory.

Politics should not be treated as a game of “RISK” and Global Domination. Mr Trump is currently playing this board game in real life, with real people, soldiers, and weapons for his own amusement, in an attempt to gain more unchecked power and feed his never-ending thirst for attention and adoration to satisfy his narcissism. Who will he choose to attack next, if we allow him to target Denmark or Greenland now?

We must  begin resisting the emerging 21st-century US MAGA Fascism. It is crucial to start discussing it in the media and raising awareness. The US has now become an adversary to New Zealand. Ignoring the issue or pretending that "all is still good in the hood" will not be effective in the long run, as history taught us.

The Germans did that in 1933, and we all know how that worked out for the rest of the world. Eventually, this bully will come after our resources if we don’t stand up and support and stand with Europe now. 

We call on New Zealand’s government to initiate dialogue with European leaders, build a coalition, and work through the United Nations to bring this issue to the forefront, ensuring respect for international law and sovereignty.
