Tim’s Law on Sky News – the fight for change continues

Dear supporters,
I wanted to share an important update with everyone who has supported Tim’s Law.
Today I spoke to Sky News Live about Tim’s Law and the urgent need for stronger action against dangerous drink and drug drivers.
The report looked at the very different approach taken in France, where suspected drug drivers can be dealt with immediately, and the delays that can occur within the UK system.
I spoke about why we are calling for immediate licence suspension and evidential saliva sampling, so that suspected dangerous drivers can be dealt with more quickly and effectively while the proper legal process takes place.
Almost 215,000 people have supported this campaign, and your signatures have helped bring Tim’s Law into the national conversation.
Our petition has been presented to Parliament by Peter Dowd MP, and next week, I will be meeting Peter alongside Ean Lewin and Chris Seaton to discuss building wider parliamentary support and pursuing a full parliamentary debate on the issues raised by Tim’s Law.
Now we need your help again.
If you have signed Tim’s Law, please consider contacting your own MP and asking them to support Tim’s Law and to support efforts to secure a full parliamentary debate on these important road-safety reforms.
You can simply tell your MP that you support:
• Immediate licence suspension for suspected serious drink and drug driving offences
• Evidential saliva sampling to improve the speed and effectiveness of drug-driving enforcement
• A full parliamentary debate on Tim’s Law
The more Parliamentarians who hear directly from their constituents, the stronger our case for a debate.
I am incredibly grateful to every single person who signed, shared and supported Tim’s Law. This campaign is moving forward because of you.
Please watch the Sky News interview below and, if you can, share it with your friends and family so we can continue building support for meaningful change.
For Tim. And for every family who deserves safer roads. 💙
