Petition to TikTok: Stop Unfair Comment Restrictions on Genuine Users

We, the undersigned TikTok users, call on TikTok to review and change its current practices regarding comment restrictions and automated account limitations.

Many of us are genuine users who create real content, interact respectfully with others, and participate in support communities dedicated to encouraging creators and promoting positive engagement.

We do not engage in bullying, harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam, or abusive behavior. We simply choose to support other users through comments, banners, images, and positive interactions.

Despite this, many accounts are being restricted from commenting or are being treated as if they were automated bots. These restrictions often occur without a clear explanation, without evidence of wrongdoing, and with limited opportunities for meaningful review.

We believe that:

- Genuine users should not be penalized for supporting other creators.

- Participation in support communities should not automatically be considered suspicious activity.

- Comment restrictions should be based on actual violations of Community Guidelines, not assumptions.

- Users deserve transparency when enforcement actions are taken against their accounts.

- Appeals should be reviewed fairly and by qualified human moderators whenever possible.

These restrictions have had a significant negative impact on many users. People invest time, effort, and emotion into the TikTok community. Repeated limitations and unexplained restrictions can cause frustration, stress, anxiety, and a sense of exclusion from a platform they have used responsibly.

We respectfully request that TikTok:

1. Review its automated detection systems.

2. Stop incorrectly identifying genuine users as bots.

3. Improve transparency regarding comment restrictions.

4. Provide effective and fair appeal procedures.

5. Protect the right of users to engage positively with content and creators of their choice.

We support a safe TikTok community and agree that harmful behavior should be addressed. However, legitimate users who contribute positively should not be unfairly restricted.

We ask TikTok to listen to its community and take immediate action to ensure fair treatment for all users.
