In my experience, I have seen the detrimental effects that improper use of medical marijuana can have on individuals. Its relaxed regulations have allowed for abuses of the system and harm to the user's health. According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse, while medical marijuana can offer significant benefits for individuals dealing with specific health issues, gaps in the regulations can lead to misuse and abuse. As well, medical marijuana can carry risk of dependency and adverse mental health effects if used improperly. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that stronger regulations be put in place to prevent such abuses and protect the health of our society.
