Hello all 165,460 of you! Last Friday I picked up a petition box from Change.org containing every single one of your names and comments, and I hand delivered this box to Thomas Cook HQ in London. I was met outside by a member of their PR team who took the box from me. This was a great experience that I hope will be the first step in initiating an open dialogue between us and Thomas Cook. I want to thank you so much for all the support this petition has received from around the world, it fills my heart with so much joy to know there are so many people out there who are as passionate about dolphin welfare as I am. Dolphin captivity is an issue that is not going to go away. Every day more and more people are opening their eyes to the immense cruelty behind swimming with dolphins and more and more people are backing campaigns such as this one. I have no doubt that change is coming, but unfortunately, when there is money at stake companies are always reluctant to make those changes. I have a few more ideas for how we can put pressure on Thomas Cook to make those changes which I will share with you all in due course, but in the meantime please keep spreading our message and educating people on this issue. Education really is the key here. If we can stop the demand for dolphin experiences, the suffering will stop too. To keep making sure our voices are heard, I’ve teamed up with the wonderful people at Dolphin Freedom UK to work on some exciting new campaigns in the future. It’d be really fab if you’d head over to their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/dolphinfreedomUK/) and give them a like. We plan on continuing to raise awareness and petitioning some of the other companies who continue to exploit dolphins, and we can’t do it without your help! As always, thank you, Katie
