At least 39 people were killed and 87 wounded on Friday when two rockets hit a railway station in eastern Ukraine packed with evacuees, Ukrainian authorities said. (latest news is that 50 people have been killed, including 5 children)

A large missile fragment with the phrase “For the children” spray-painted on its side in Russian was also visible, less than 300 yards from station entrance. The message, taken to signal revenge for children killed by Ukrainian forces, is thought to be written by the Russian servicemen who fired the missile.
