The Issue

Plastic pollution is a major problem in Brampton, with most of it being in plain sight but out of reach. It's in ponds, lakes, rivers, forests, neighborhoods, parks, fields, EVERYWHERE. And, other than looking ugly in general, it also breaks down into microplastics, then it works its way up the food chain until it reaches us and puts little bits of junk in our blood that probably won't leave your body anytime soon, causing cancer risks. And the big chunks are bad too, because animals keep thinking they're food and then they choke on them and die. And besides, the plastic can be sent around via the rivers so everyone else also gets noxious trash in their area. Not to mention that trash can also leach toxic chemicals into the water, so life isn't safe from it even if they don't directly eat it.  So yeah, please fix this. It is a serious problem, and I am tired of people thinking that if we just ignore it for long enough it will just, poof out of existence. It will come back to bite us if we do not fix it in time. My idea for fixing this is for Peel Region Waste Management to make a new garbageman team that instead cleans trash that's not where it's supposed to be. The difference between the normal garbage men and them could be that they are more spread out and don't have a ton of equipment.
