Hello! I’m Aspen! I am a therian and otherkin identifying individual and I think it would be nice to have a summer camp for therians, otherkin and allies. Like many others, I have felt like we need a safe space where we can express our identities, meet others, and build community. I think that a summer camp, be it a daycamp or a sleepaway camp, would be a great idea because it would be in the woods and away from all the rude comments.

Therianthropy is not widely understood or accepted. Many who identify as therians or otherkin deal with being misunderstood, bullied, and left feeling isolated because they may not know others like them. 

For those of you who don’t know what it means to be therian or otherkin, here are some simple definitions. (Thanks google ;) )

Therian: Therians are individuals who believe they are not completely human and instead identify as a species of non-human animal.

Otherkin: Otherkin are individuals who believe they are not completely human and, instead identify as a mythical or fantasy-based being.

Furry:  Furries are individuals who are especially interested in anthropomorphic or cartoon animals. Often they will create a fursona to express themself.

(I included furry because there seems to be a lot of people confused about the difference)

It's time we create this safe space for our community. One where we can explore what it means to be a therian or otherkin without worrying about judgment or misunderstanding.

Also I think furries should be welcomed too! (I don’t really feel like going and rewriting all that to include furries but I think they should be included too!)
And LGBTQIA+ too ofc!!!
