I can't thank everyone enough for all their signatures.
24 hrs in and we already have almost 2,000 signatures.
Its amazing to see this petition snowball the way it is.
The NHS is very precious to me and billions of others. I have a very rare genetic condition, im around 1 of 30 in the UK with it. If the NHS hadnt been so on the ball I would now be blind and deaf. No if's, no but's. I would continue to have regular non-viral meningitis attacks as my brain and spinal cord become inflammed. For me the NHS is the difference between no quality of life and having the chance to make the best I can of every moment. To enjoy music and the soundscape of nature, to see the sun rise and set.
If the NHS were fully privatised I wouldnt be able to afford medical insurance. I would be forced to make horrific choices such as "Which treatment can I afford? Should I save my eyesight this time and go deaf or do I save my hearing and go blind!" Thats not scaremongering. Its hard truth. The treatment for my condition involves very high dose steroids and chemo given to transplant recipients, steroid injections into the eyes and life long immuno suppressants. Id never be able to afford the medical bill for that and I doubt if id get insurance.
We can all see that this asset stripping will lead to a fully privatised NHS.
There are many others like me with life long conditions that mean they need support, not medical charges when life is at its most difficult.
Please, keep sharing and keep signing. Its OUR NHS.
We have a voice.
Lets use it!!!!
